From Wanting Skinny to Wanting Health

When I set out to work with Jackie, I was thinking that she would simply tell me what to eat and we would focus on how to lose the weight I so desperately needed to lose. I quickly found out that Jackie's approach was much different and deeper. Yes, Jackie gave me some nutritional recommendations that were extremely helpful, but what she taught me through our work together was so much more than that. I felt such a strong connection with Jackie. It was like we just "got" each other and I felt so confident that she knew exactly how to help me change my bad relationship with food once and for all.

Jackie asked me some really tough questions that made me get real with myself and really focus on what was causing my negative relationship with food. She also made me realize that it is not about skinny, but instead, about health. That was a big one for me! Asking and challenging me to redefine what healthy looked like made me realize that having a healthy body composition was just one of the things on the list, and that there was so much more that I wanted. I never realized it until then.

Jackie helped me by being my biggest cheerleader; she supported me, listened and was kind. Our sessions focused on what I needed and she was always available for me. Jackie's kind and gentle nature allowed me to be calm and honest with her and it paved the way for me to learn patience and trust in the process. I have learned that loving myself is the key to changing my health and without Jackie, I don't think I would have been able to see that. I can't thank her enough for what she has done for me and my health. If you want to lose weight and get healthy and have tried everything, try this.
