Reform Your Heart for Advent
Thursday, November 4
2 pm - 3:30 pm EST
As the holiday season draws near, we have a choice before us. We can either get lost in the whirlwind of holiday shopping and decorating—or we can slow down, reform our hearts, and reclaim the true gift of these holy days: Jesus.
Reclaim the Season’s Sacred Longing
As the end of the liturgical year transitions into Advent, it’s easy to get caught up in the holiday hype. Given the current state of our world, it’s more important than ever for us to slow down and remember what, and Who, we’re going to celebrate. To experience the true beauty and spiritual riches of the season, we must first embrace a poverty of spirit—to quiet our hearts and lean into the waiting. This workshop on Advent is a prayerful opportunity to come alongside Mary and Joseph and contemplate the gift of our Savior’s coming with wonder, hope, and joy.
In this workshop, we’ll explore:
How Advent offers us the clearest sense of adventure in our journey of faith
The spiritual benefits found in this brief yet beautiful season of preparation and longing
Ways we can slow down and reflect on Christ’s coming—both two thousand years ago and at the end of time
How to create space in our daily schedule to receive the graces of the season and reclaim our sense of longing
