The First Steps Forward

The battle for our hearts is fought on the pages of our calendar.

Oof. That one hit home. These words, like so many of those spoken by our Reform instructors, pierced my heart and convinced me that I needed to make more space for the Lord to transform my day-to-day—that He might create me anew and make me whole in Christ

Before Reform Online LIVE, I had reached a point of utter exhaustion. I knew that something needed to change so that I could give the best of myself, but I was not sure how to do it without trying 100 different things and spending even more of the energy I didn’t seem to have. After years of allowing sleep, nutrition, hydration, and play to fall by the wayside and giving my attention to “more important things” as a missionary sister, I was depleted and practically unable to function, especially in the afternoon hours.

I was led to Reform through my religious community, and it was clear that the Lord Himself was at work through this ministry. Each class overflowed with wisdom, insight, and practical help to take the next good step along the way. The community and prayer helped me to discern without judgment how the Lord was inviting me to a deeper awareness and to receive His guidance to make necessary changes. Small, simple, habitual changes have already brought me a long way on the journey to health and wholeness, and I have a new confidence in the Lord’s plan to make me—little by little—fully alive in Christ.
